Our Mission

Since 1911, Buonfiglio Funeral Home has been dedicated to helping families and friends honor their loved one. The staff members of Paul Buonfiglio & Sons – Bruno Funeral Home will guide your family in creating a meaningful ceremony to honor the life and memory of a loved one. A ceremony can be anything you wish it to be: simple or elaborate, traditional or unique. No matter how it’s tailored, such a ceremony is an important step in recovering from loss.

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Over a Century of Service

Since 1911, the Buonfiglio family has been operating their funeral business spanning four generations. Leopoldo Buonfiglio and his wife Rosa (Farone) Buonfiglio moved to Revere in 1923 and opened Buonfiglio Funeral Service out of their home on Mountain Avenue.

Continuing the family business, Leopoldo and Rosa’s son, Paul Buonfiglio Sr, opened Paul Buonfiglio Funeral Chapel. Later in life, Paul Sr. was appointed to the State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers by Governor John Volpe. After years of success the business outgrew its facility. In 1964 Paul Sr. contracted architect Harold M. Turiello and general contractor Anthony Zollo to design and build the new Paul Buonfiglio Funeral Home at its current location, 128 Revere Street.

In 1972, Paul Buonfiglio Sr. passed away unexpectedly and his son Paul Buonfiglio Jr. continued the family business. In 1984, Paul Buonfiglio III joined his father helping with wakes and funerals. Paul Buonfiglio III became a licensed funeral director in 1991 and quickly took charge of the day to day operations. Paul III was active in many organizations throughout the community. He served as Councilor at large from 1993–1999 where he also served as the council president. Paul III proudly served as president of St. Anthony’s Holy Name Society as well.

In 1990, Paul Jr.’s youngest son, Victor Buonfiglio, joined the company. He was licensed in 1995 and continued to work alongside his father and brother. Victor was a member of St. Anthony’s Holy Name Society where he also served as president.

In August 2004, the Buonfiglios purchased the Bruno Funeral Chapel, one of Revere’s oldest funeral businesses. Beverly (Bruno) Collins hoped to continue her family’s business without the responsibility of administrative tasks. The Buonfiglio family was honored to be chosen to carry on the Bruno name. The timing of this union was perfect, as the Buonfiglios had just hired Delvecchio Construction to build their new state of the art facility at 128 Revere Street. Emilio Delvecchio Sr. along with his son Anthony broke ground September 27, 2004. During construction, business was operated out of the Bruno Funeral Chapel. In February of 2005, the new Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home was completed and opened for business.

Over a century later, many things have changed; however, one thing remains the same. The Buonfiglio family and their staff are committed to serving the people of Revere and surrounding communities with honor and dignity at its beautiful facility.
