Bill was an avid sports fan his entire life. He played hockey as a goalie while at BC High  and coached hockey when his sons were in youth hockey. After bringing up their family in  Saugus, Bill and Rose Marie moved to Harwich where they enjoyed the gorgeous beaches and  incredible beauty of Cape Cod. Bill was an active member of Holy Trinity Church where he was  an active parishioner serving as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul  Society, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Bill retired early and pursued an outstanding career as a professional artist, achieving  great heights. He painted and studied art on Monhegan Island every fall and painted  extensively throughout Europe and on frequent trips abroad, his favorite being Italy, spending 2  months painting in Venice alone. He was a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, a  Copley Master with the Copley Society of Boston, a Master Painter with Cape Cod Art  Association, a member of American Society of Marine Artists, the New England Watercolor  Society, Creative Arts Center in Chatham, the Guild of Harwich Artists, and the Whiskey  Painters of America. Bill’s work was featured in numerous art galleries in Maine, Martha’s Vineyard  and throughout the Cape. He exhibited frequently in Boston and on the Cape, and with the  American Artist’s Professional League at the Salmagundi Club in New York. His work is in the  permanent collection at the Cape Museum of Art and in hotels and private and corporate  collections. Bill was also an accomplished illustrator. His wonderful sense of humor was  evident in the caricatures he made for countless clients and cards for every holiday and family  occasion.
