It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William S. Tetlow. Bill (Billy) was born on August 17, 1957, in Woodbury, New Jersey, and transitioned out of this life on February 2, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts. Through his journey of 68 years, he touched many lives with his wisdom, humor and passion.
After graduating with the Class of 1976 from Allentown High School, Allentown, New Jersey, Bill served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years spending time in Germany and Japan. He followed his years in the military with a career in welding in Allentown, New Jersey. He later settled in Boston, Massachusetts, where he succeeded and retired working at Veterans home at Chelsea for The State of Massachusetts.
He adored spending time with his family and enjoyed traveling to visit them. He held a deep affection for the ocean and relished vacationing at the beach. Driven by an endless love of football, baseball and music, Bill was passionate about watching the Philadelphia Eagles and attending many Phillies and Red Sox Baseball Games as well as countless J. Geils and Rolling Stones concerts with his son, Johnny.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard Tetlow and Shirley (Hill) Sander; His Stepfather, Bernhardt Sander; His Grandparents, Samuel and Katherine Tetlow, William and Muriel Hill and Paul and Helen Karpiak.
He is survived by his loving son, John Tetlow of Manchester, New Hampshire; 2 Sisters, Bernadette (Tetlow) Paris of Ballwin, Missouri and Linda Tetlow of St. Ann, Missouri; 2 Brothers, Mark Tetlow of New Jersey and Shawn Sander of Springfield, Missouri; 2 Nieces, Shannon (Brian) Adam and Jennifer Paris; 1 Nephew, Cameron Paris; 1 Great Neice, Gillian Adam and 2 Great Nephews, Patrick Adam and Aiden Valos, along with many other family and friends. Bill will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A full Military Service to honor Bill’s exceptional life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Bourne National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Buzzards Bay, MA 02542. We invite all who knew and loved Bill to join us in honoring his memory.
Following the service, please join us for a Celebration of Life Luncheon and Lantern Release at Wild Rover Pub and Restaurant, 21 Kosciuszko St., Manchester, NH 03101. We will gather together and release paper lanterns to send our love and prayers as we light up the sky for Bill. If you would like to participate, please bring a paper lantern of your choice and your favorite memory to share as we watch them soar.
