Susan Campbell

November 19, 1966 — March 2, 2026

East Boston

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Susan (Cummings) Campbell on March 2, 2026.

Susan was born to Marion Cummings and the late Cameron Cummings. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Amanda Cummings, and Amanda’s fiancé, Michael McDonagh; her devoted husband of three years and cherished partner of 20 years, Gordon Campbell Jr.; her dear mother, Marion; her sister, Karen S. Cummings; her brother, William “Billy” Cummings; many nieces and nephews; countless friends who became family; and her loyal companion, Roxy.

She grew up in a large, close-knit family in East Boston that taught her the meaning of laughter, resilience, and unconditional love. She is now reunited with her late brothers, Eugene Cummings, Joseph Cummings, Michael Cummings, and sister Debra Hathaway.

Amanda was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. Susan’s love did not stop there; she embraced everyone Amanda loved. She welcomed Amanda’s fiancé, Michael McDonagh, as family, and she cherished her daughter’s close-knit circle of friends as if they were her own.

Susan was a beacon of love, empathy, and warmth, sprinkling joy into every corner of our lives. She cherished the simple pleasures in life, like watermelon mai tais, playing with Roxy at “Shea’s” Beach, drinking her Dunkin’ coffee, and preparing home-cooked meals for everyone she loved.

To say Susan was an animal lover would be an understatement. She was a fierce, yet soft hearted rescuer of anything in need; birds, rabbits, stray cats, even squirrels. Her compassion knew no limits. She was intuitive and always open-hearted in her own uniquely “psychic” way. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and light to those lucky enough to know her.

A visitation for Susan will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere, from 3:00–5:00 PM, with a prayer service at 5:00 PM.

As we remember Susan, we choose not to focus on the sadness of her passing, but to celebrate the joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will continue to dance in our hearts, her laughter will echo in our memories, and her love will forever warm our souls.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in her honor.https://hospitals.alepposhriners.com/donate/
