Richard Michael Marchese

Richard Marchese lived an extraordinary life defined by service, entrepreneurship, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to others. Richard is survived by his brother Frank Marchese Jr., sister Norma (Marchese) Alamia and brother in-law Richard Alamia along with several nieces and nephews.

At just 17 years old, while still in high school, Richard ran for public office. Shortly after his eighteenth birthday on June 29, he was sworn in as a city councilor, becoming one of the youngest elected officials in the country.

His Campaign letter at the time read:

As a mature 19-year-old with an excellent record for being clean-living. hard-working, honest and sincere person. with a three-year owner-operated food business experience to my credit, I am eager to further my responsibilities by taking part in our city government. Willing to seek out your wants and have them heard, knowing how to relate to both youth and adults in our community. I have the desire, the energy, the time, with no ties to hinder me in ful-filling the obligations to this office, but only YOU, the voter can help me to attain my goal! Although Richard never married or had children of his own, he played a meaningful role in raising his nieces and nephews. He loved, protected, encouraged, and supported them as though they were his own children.

His generosity extended far beyond his immediate family. Richard believed in people, gave them opportunities, offered guidance, and helped many find their way during challenging moments. To countless individuals, he was more than a relative, friend, or business associate.

He was a mentor, protector, and source of strength. Richard’s life was a reminder that true success is not measured by what a person accumulates, but by what they give to others.

He will be remembered for his vision, courage, loyalty, generosity, and the many lives made better because he was part of them. His absence will be deeply felt, but his influence will continue through his family, his friends, the communities he helped build, and every person whose life he touched. May Richard be remembered with love, gratitude, and admiration.
