Phyllis M. (Botelho) Carifio

Phyllis M. Carifio, of Revere, passed away following a tragic accident at her second home in Ossipee, NH just shy of her 81st birthday. The beloved wife of the late William Carifio. Daughter of the late Jesse and Congetta (Ciccariella) Botelho. Sister of Geraldine Gilbert of NY, Barbara MacMillan and her husband John of NH and the late Paul and Theresa Botelho. Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as several close cousins.

Phyllis worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for over 50 years before retiring to spend more time with her husband Bill, whom she married at age 40. They enjoyed traveling, horseback riding, gardening and working outdoors. Phyllis liked cooking, baking, sewing and crochet. Most of all, she cared for her sisters, their children; her cousins Rosemarie, Esther, Anthony and Danny; as well as other friends and godchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held in the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons ~ Bruno Funeral Home, Friday, May 12, 2023 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 250 Revere Street, Revere at 11:00 AM. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. At Phyllis’ request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the William Carifio Memorial Scholarship Fund, Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School, 100 Hemlock Road, Wakefield, MA 01880 or to a charity of your choice.
