March 12, 1978 — November 10, 2025

Somerville

Philip “Phil” DiPietro 4th of Somerville passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2025, at the age of 47. Born in Boston on March 12, 1978, to Philip DiPietro III of Lowell formerly of Melrose and Patricia Blegen of Plymouth, formerly of South Boston, Phil's humor, warmth, and passion made every moment spent with him an adventure.

A technology enthusiast, Phil carved out an accomplished career in the high-tech industry as an Account Executive. His dedication and enthusiasm for his work were evident in everything he did.

Outside the office, Phil was a passionate lover of the beach and water, a sports enthusiast, a music lover, and a gifted photographer. A dedicated Boston Celtics fan, he loved nothing more than to cheer on his favorite team with family and friends. His favorite cheer was "LET'S GO!" both inside the Garden and in everyday life. He found solace and fitness in the rhythm of hot yoga and the clanging of barbells. He enjoyed capturing life’s beautiful moments through his lens.

His love for his family was deep and unconditional. He is survived by dear brothers Zachary Blegen DiPietro of FL, Hal Blegen of TX, John Blegen of ME, all formerly of Plymouth, and dearest sister, Emily DiPietro of Malden, formerly of Melrose. Also survived by his stepfather Halward Blegen of Plymouth, stepmother Karen Stromberg of Melrose, aunt and uncle Stephen and Donna Gregorio of Burlington, and cousins Rachel Warshawsky, and Jennifer and Amanda Gregorio.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St, Revere at 10:00am followed by interment at Woodlawn cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor, NY 10001 or at www.alzfdn.org.

Philip’s life was a brilliant symphony of laughter, love, and passion. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memories will continue to inspire, his laugh will continue to echo in our hearts, and his love will continue to bind us together.
