Palma Mellone, affectionately known as “Nonna,” was a devoted and loving woman whose life revolved around her family. Born and raised in Italy, she moved to East Boston in 1970 before settling in Revere, where she created a home filled with laughter, great food, and love.
Palma shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Grazio Mellone. She was the proud mother of Alfonso (Italy), Giovanni (Italy), Rosa and her late husband Demetrio (Revere), and Giuseppe and his wife Marlene (Revere). She is also survived by eight beloved grandchildren — Lisa, Graziano, the late John, Evano, Demetrio, Roberto, Alyssa, and Ruby — and many great-grandchildren. Palma was predeceased by her eight loving brothers and sisters. A special thank you is extended to her granddaughter-in-law, Marina Grasso, who cared for Nonna with love and devotion until the end.
A true matriarch, Palma expressed her love through her family and her cooking. Her homemade pasta and famous fried meatballs were the centerpiece of countless family gatherings, bringing everyone together and creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. Known for her warmth, generosity, and daily glass of wine, Palma enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and shared them with everyone around her.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and photos on her memorial page, honoring Palma’s life and the joy she brought to everyone lucky enough to know her.
