Obdulio "Coco" Romeo Ruiz

Obdulio “Coco” Romeo Ruiz of Revere, Massachusetts, formerly of Pehuajo, Argentina, passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Coco was born in Mercedes, Argentina on June 16, 1935 to the late Romeo Ruiz and Carmen Severina Calderazo Ruiz. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Gloria Astudillo Ruiz, devoted father of Gabriel Fernando Ruiz and his wife Cinthia Martin of Saugus and cherished grandfather of Yamila Ruiz of Boston and her partner Nicholas Coppola, Nicholas Ruiz and Melissa Ruiz Martin. He leaves behind his dear cousin Anna Maria Castro and her children Gustavo, Leticia, Sebastian and Guillermo all of Pehuajo, Argentina. He is also survived by many adored friends who he considered family and held close to his heart, including Marcos Bertinelli, Karmen Rodriguez, Claudia Kassab, Marcelo Crosa and Juan Manuel Gonzalez Muggieri. Coco was raised in Mercedes, Argentina and later relocated to Pehuajó, where he met Gloria. Coco worked as a bank teller and a basketball coach, taking great pride in his work throughout his life. Above all else, Coco loved his family, his friends, music, sports and his wife’s delicious cooking. He will be greatly missed. All services were privately held, but the family will be holding a celebration of his life at The Marina at the Wharf in Revere on Sunday, December 15 from 5-8pm. All are welcome to attend.
