With profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of MaryAnn DiCresce, a beacon of love, faith, and compassion, who departed this life on April 9, 2026. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 2, 1947, MaryAnn was a woman of enduring spirit, boundless love, and unwavering commitment to her family, friends, and faith.
MaryAnn was a cherished caretaker, her life was enriched by her beloved daughters, Deidre and Melanie, who she shared with John Joseph MacMillan. She also found joy in the company of her three nieces, Antoinette (DiCresce) Depalmo, Lisa (DiCresce) Marty O'Donnell, and Josephine DiCresce. The love MaryAnn held for her family was matched only by her devotion to her fiancé, David, who had been her companion and confidante for 48 years. Her faith was a guiding force in MaryAnn's life. She held a deep love for Jesus, the Blessed Mother, and St. Joseph, her patron saint. She was a regular at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, attending catechism classes and Sunday mass.
MaryAnn was a woman of many passions. She found immense happiness in the outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of flowers and the peace of nature. She was an ardent animal lover, and her dogs, Mighty Mickey, Trixie, and Bratwurst, brought her immeasurable joy. Her love for fashion reflected her exceptional taste and a knack for home decorating. MaryAnn had a great sense of humor and loved laughing with her loved ones. She enjoyed bingo, relished Italian, Lebanese, and Chinese food, and loved to travel with David on his BMW motorcycle to NH, Connecticut, and other places. MaryAnn was known for her compassionate and helping nature. Many have said they wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for her.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie DiCresce. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernardo DiCresce, and her mother, Josephine DiCresce. MaryAnn's life was a testament to her compassionate heart, and her enduring love for those around her. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide us.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Revere, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of MaryAnn to the memorial page. Your contributions will help us remember and celebrate the remarkable life that she lived.
