Marvin "Buckey" Victorie Dionne Jr. of Chelsea passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family on July 21, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Chelsea on February 15, 1959.
Marvin’s love for life was as vast as the sea he adored so much. As an avid fisherman, kayaker, and sailor, he found peace and solace in the rhythmic dance of the ocean's waves. His enthusiasm for Boston sports was second only to his passion for his favorite TV series; The Curse of Oak Island, Wicked Tuna, and Ancient Aliens. In his retirement, Marvin was a familiar and cherished voice in the community, known for his love of singing karaoke and owning Okedoke Karaoke. As a former bus driver for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), he navigated not only the streets but also the vast expanse of human connections, always with a funny story or joke to share. Above all else, Marvin treasured time spent with his grandchildren and his fondness for animals was unparalleled.
He is survived by his father Marvin V. Dionne Sr and his wife Fran and his mother Catherine DeVitto and her companion Ray. Beloved husband of 14 years to Cheryl Dionne (Wood). Loving father of Dawn, Michael, Tara, Amanda, and the late Christopher, stepfather to Allison and Damion. Adored grandfather of Robbie, Marie, DeVin, Acelynn, Jason, Matthew, Nicholas, Alex, and Nate. Dear brother of Ceit, John, Ann Marie, and the late William and Thomas. Caring brother-in-law to Lisa and her late husband Jeff, Stacey, and Billy. Also survived by his doting niece Brooklynn and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with a Prayer Service being held at 3:15pm.
