Figueroa, Maria Candelaria of Boston passed away suddenly on November 6, 2020 at the age of 83. Born in San Jeronimo, Antioquia Colombia on February 2, 1937 to the late Jose Figueroa and Susana (Pineda). She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Alfaro and devoted mother of Nubia Vargas of Revere, Juan Rendon and his wife Soraya of Chelsea, Edith Rendon of Revere, Carlos Rendon of Melrose, and Marcela Rendon of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Nathalie Rincon, Susana Giraldo, Daniel Rendon, Yvonne Rincon, Michael Rendon, Vanessa Montoya, Melissa Padilla, Felipe Montoya, and Sebastian Rendon. Adored great grandmother of Isabella Chau, Mia Chau, and Levi Andrade. Dear sister of Jose Figueroa and his wife Dioselina Patino of Colombia, Gilma Figueroa and her husband Hernando Agudelo of Colombia, Socorro Figueroa of Colombia, Consuelo Figueroa of Colombia, Ramon Figueroa of Colombia, Lucy Elena Figueroa de Orlas, Fabiola Figueroa and her husband Elias Morales of Revere, Silvia Figueroa of Colombia, Patricia Figueroa and her husband Adolfo Gutierrez of Colombia. Maria is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Maria peacefully passed away in her home and family rushed to be by her side. She was a member of Villa De La Alegria, and elderly community in Boston where she was loved and valued by her peers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, knitting, and watching telenovelas. She will be always be remembered for being an amazing friend, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong, hard-working, and exemplary woman, compassionate and always giving and caring for others. Maria loved being surrounded by her loved ones, so for her 80th birthday her family threw her a large birthday party with all her family and friends. She had never been so surprised in her life. At this moment she finally realized how deeply she was loved and appreciated by all her loved ones and tears of joy fell to her cheeks and were quickly exchanged for a grin from ear to ear. Maria requested to be cremated and her ashes will be interred in Medellin, Colombia, where her sister will one day join her. The family of Maria Candelaria Figueroa thanks you all for your love and affection towards Maria and for the flowers and condolences for her passing. Please keep her in your hearts and prayers.
