Margherita C. “Rita” Pepicelli (Parrella), of Revere and formerly of Avellino, Italy longtime proprietor of Pepicelli Fuel in East Boston, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. She was the beloved wife of the late Pellegrino “Bill” Pepicelli, with whom she shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Rita was the cherished mother of Annette Forcellati and her husband John of Revere, and a loving sister to Crescenzo Parrella and his wife Barbara, as well as the late Maria Lombardi. She was the adoring Nana of Vittorio and William, and is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Rita will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and zest for life. She had a selfless heart, always putting the needs and happiness of others before her own. Rita found happiness in music, dancing, lively conversations, and days by the pool. She loved to travel, especially to Italy, but her greatest joy was always found at home—cooking, entertaining, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.
She took great joy in tending to her flowers whenever she could, and she never missed a chance to decorate her home for every season and holiday. Her welcoming smile and open-door hospitality made everyone feel like family—she genuinely delighted in seeing others enjoy themselves.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rita’s life at the Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, on Friday, May 30th from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, Revere St., Revere. Rita will be laid to rest in the Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery.
