We announce with heavy hearts the passing of Luis Antonio Castro Rodriguez, lovingly known as Lucho, on May 21, 2025. Born on June 25, 1940, in Bogotá, Colombia, Luis lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and dedication, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Luis was a man of many talents and deep passions, with an unwavering love for his hometown of Bogotá and his favorite soccer team, Millonarios FC. His creative spirit was evident in his work and hobbies — he found great joy as both a machinist and a carpenter. His dedicated service as a Security Aide in Environmental Services further reflected his lifelong commitment to the well-being of others. After spending most of his life in Colombia, he made his home in Revere, Massachusetts in 2006, where he continued to touch lives with his kindness and wisdom.
Luis was a devoted husband to Maria Rico, his wife of 55 years, and a loving father to Fernando, Felipe, Carlos, Danny, and Omar Castro. He is also remembered by his first wife, Maria Teresa Malgon, and his brother, Jairo Castro. In addition, he is survived by many cherished relatives and friends. His wife, Maria, was his anchor and source of strength, and his five sons were his greatest pride. His Catholic faith and spirituality guided him throughout his life, offering comfort and peace during times of uncertainty.
Luis was predeceased by his parents, Alejandro Castro and Isabel Rodriguez.
A Visitation will be held at Paul Buonfiglio & Sons Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Nacido el 25 de junio de 1940 en Bogotá, Colombia, Luis vivió una vida marcada por la compasión, la creatividad y la dedicación, dejando una huella imborrable en todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
Luis fue un hombre de muchos talentos y profundas pasiones, con un amor inquebrantable por su ciudad natal, Bogotá, y por su equipo de fútbol favorito, Millonarios FC. Su espíritu creativo se reflejaba en su trabajo y pasatiempos: encontraba gran alegría trabajando como maquinista y carpintero. Su servicio dedicado como Asistente de Seguridad en Servicios Ambientales reflejaba aún más su compromiso de toda la vida con el bienestar de los demás. Después de vivir la mayor parte de su vida en Colombia, se estableció en Revere, Massachusetts en 2006, donde continuó tocando vidas con su amabilidad y sabiduría.
Luis fue un esposo devoto para María Rico, su esposa durante 55 años, y un padre amoroso para Fernando, Felipe, Carlos, Danny y Omar Castro. También es recordado por su primera esposa, María Teresa Malgón, y su hermano, Jairo Castro. Además, le sobreviven muchos familiares y amigos queridos. Su esposa, María, fue su ancla y fuente de fortaleza, y sus cinco hijos fueron su mayor orgullo. Su fe católica y espiritualidad lo guiaron a lo largo de su vida, brindándole consuelo y paz en momentos de incertidumbre.
Luis fue precedido en fallecimiento por sus padres, Alejandro Castro e Isabel Rodríguez.
La velación se llevará a cabo en Paul Buonfiglio & Sons Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, el sábado 24 de mayo de 2025, de 3:00 p.m. a 6:00 p.m. Se invita cordialmente a familiares y amigos a acompañarnos.
