Revere

Julian Gerardo Guerrero of Revere passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 18, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in the vibrant city of Matanzas, Cuba on March 18, 1941, to the late Gerardo Guerrero and Ana Luisa Milian de Guerrero. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Alicia Mercedes Saumet. Julian, with his unwavering kindness and infectious laughter, always made those around him feel cherished and seen.

Julian served his country with pride as a member of the United States Army, a testament to his dedication and strength. His professional life was equally commendable, working for 25 years at Merrill Lynch as an accountant. His career in finance was marked by integrity, dedication, and a remarkable ability to forge lasting friendships through his work. Many joined him after work at Delmonico’s in Manhattan, where he loved to sing. He had a lovely singing voice and was often heard singing Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash and Carlos Gardel. When he would gather with his friends and family, he was the life of the party. Julian was an individual who did not just live his life; he enriched the lives of those around him. He was always willing to extend a hand to those in need. He was a lover of animals, sharing his home and his heart with numerous dogs, cats, and even a parrot who loved to sit on his shoulder. With a gold 1969 Cadillac El Dorado as his chariot, Julian navigated the roads of life with style and panache. He enjoyed reading, talking politics, and remembering his time in Plato, Magdalena and listening to music from around the world. His spirit and generosity shined through, even as his health began to decline, always asking others how they and their loved ones were doing. That smile and twinkle in the eye will always remain with us.

He was a devoted father of Myrna A. Guerrero-McCabe and her husband Robb of Revere, and Sylvia M. Guerrero and her partner Ed McCarthy of Holiday, FL. A cherished grandfather of Sienna K. McCabe and Jake R. McCabe. Dear brother of Silvia Guerrero Milian and her late husband Juan Francisco Gonzalez of Cuba, Mirna Hamneris Guerrero and her late husband Carlos Cepero of Cuba, and José Rafael Guerrero and his wife Yoslany Castaneira Aldana. A Caring brother-in-law to Jorge Saumet and his wife Denys of Colombia, Angel Saumet and his wife Rocio of Colombia, Ana M. Saumet of Colombia, the late Alfonso Saumet and his surviving wife Marina of Colombia, and the late Fernando Saumet and his surviving wife Isabel of Colombia. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
