Josefa Mojica

Mojica, Josefa (Irizarry) of Chelsea passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on February 2, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico to the late Evaristo Irizarry and Catalina Ramos. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to Alfonso Mojica. Josefa's life was an embodiment of love, support, and the joy of togetherness.

Josefa was a woman of many talents. She was an exceptional cook; her kitchen filled with the mouth-watering aroma of dishes lovingly prepared for her family and friends. Her culinary skills were only matched by her passion for needle and thread. Josefa's love for sewing was evident in the intricate designs she created each stitch a testament to her patience and dedication. She found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, be it solving crossword puzzles, indulging in word searches, or cheering on a round of Bingo.

She was a devoted mother of Leticia Flores, Yolanda Velez and her husband Sigfredo, Jose Mojica, Mildred Mojica, and the late Nilda Mojica all of Chelsea. Cherished grandmother of William Flores, Alex Cordero, Yahaira Mancio, Emmanuel Velez, Yanida Felisor, and Nelson Beauchamp. Adored great grandmother of Oliver, Alfie, Phoebe, Gustavito, Adrian, Gio, Coby, and Naelis. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church 250 Revere St, Revere (everyone to meet directly at church) on Friday at 10:00am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
