Jonathan Goldsmith

Jonathan William Goldsmith, age 43, of Owings, Maryland, passed away on March 11th 2026.

Raised in Somerset, Massachusetts, Jonathan graduated from Somerset High School. He went on to build a career as a health physicist at the Naval Research Laboratory, where he was respected for his knowledge, dedication, and quiet commitment to his work.

Jonathan had a lifelong love of science and imagination. He enjoyed sailing, exploring science fiction, gaming, and following Formula 1. He found deep fulfillment in teaching and helping others, always willing to share his knowledge with patience and care.

A quiet and thoughtful soul, Jonathan revealed a playful and goofy side to those who knew him well. He was kind, generous, and deeply valued by his family and friends. His presence brought warmth, curiosity, and gentle humor to those around him.

He is survived by his mother, Cornelia Goldsmith, his brother, Abraham Goldsmith, and his beloved nephews and niece. He is predeceased by his father, Mickey Goldsmith.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jon's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
