John Walsh Jr., affectionately known as "Johnny," of Revere, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 9, 2025. He died at the age of 46 following a brave and lengthy struggle with congenital heart failure.Born in Boston on November 27, 1978, Johnny was a lifelong resident of Revere. He was raised and educated there, attending elementary school and playing youth hockey.
Johnny began his formal training in the electrical program at Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational Technical School, graduating in 1996. He furthered his education by enrolling in and successfully graduating from the prestigious IBEW National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Electrical Industry.
Johnny quickly established himself as an outstanding electrician who was deeply dedicated to his craft. He formerly worked for Local 103 before successfully establishing his own business, Walsh Electric.
Highly skilled and dependable, Johnny was often called upon by friends, family, and clients to troubleshoot, diagnose, and expertly fix any type of electrical problems.
Known for his heart of gold, Johnny was a truly kind person who loved helping others whenever he could. He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially loving to cheer on the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins.
Johnny was predeceased by his father, John Walsh Sr., a retired Captain of the Revere Fire Department. He is survived by his loving mother, Kathy Walsh of Saugus; his devoted sister, Katie, and her husband, Mike Mason of Peabody; his aunts Mary Lou Tracy of Charlestown, Kathleen Patterson and her husband Chuck of Florida, and many caring cousins.
A memorial service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held at Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, MA, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations or expressions of sympathy can be made in Johnny’s name to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
