Joao Lima De Pina

Our community sadly lost a pillar on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, when Mr. Joao Lima de Pina, favorably known as Joao Manetana and/or Joao Police, passed away from natural causes. His contributions to the lives of many include the religious upbringing of any who came his way, protecting and serving the people of Brava as Police Chief and being heavily involved in the bettering of his community. Joao is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ms. Albertina Soares de Pina, and his nine sons and four daughters. Joao is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Joao was a devout Catholic and lived his life according to the word of God.His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with in his travels from Cape Verde to Germany, Portugal, Holland and then finally settling in the United States. A visitation will be held at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm . Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Anthony's Church in Revere. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
