Revere

Candelora, Joanne (Gleeson) of Revere formerly of East Boston passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 79 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston on September 11, 1946, to the late Francis “Frank” Gleeson and Josephine (Cahill). Devoted wife of 60 years to Frank Candelora Jr. Joanne was a beacon of love and thoughtfulness who touched the lives of everyone she met.

As a dedicated health aide in the healthcare industry, she extended her compassionate nature beyond her family, bringing comfort, care, and a sparkle of joy to her patients. However, it was her family that held the most cherished place in her heart.

Joanne's spirit was adventurous and fun-loving. She found joy in the spin of a slot machine, and her favorite casino was a casino with slots. Her laughter and excitement infectious to all those around her. A frequent traveler to Aruba, she relished the white sandy beaches, her adventurous spirit reflecting the island's vibrant energy. Joanne's life was a beautiful journey, a testament to her love for life and the people in it.

She was a devoted mother of Frank Candelora III of Revere, Phillip Candelora and his wife Tami of Revere, and William Doyle who was not a son but felt was always a part of the family. Cherished grandmother of Logan, Phillip Jr, and Madison Candelora. Dear sister of William “Billy” Gleeson and his wife Josephine of East Boston, and the late Frank Gleeson, Edward Gleeson, Mary Thomson, Herbert Gleeson, Joseph Gleeson, Theresa MaQuiggin, Thomas Gleeson, Katherine Gleeson, and Elaine Bates. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Joanne's memory will be kept alive in the hearts of those who loved her and in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and love.
