Jennifer Calsimitto

Jennifer Reilly (Blake) Calsimitto, 46, of Methuen, Massachusetts, formerly of Malden, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Jen was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, nurse, and friend. She shared 28 wonderful years with her beloved husband, Christopher, including 22 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Her greatest pride and joy was her son, Matthew “Matty,” who was the center of her world.

Jen leaves behind her husband, Chris, and her beloved son Matty. She is survived by her mother, Jane (Curtis) Blake; her father-in-law, Paul Calsimitto; her siblings, Katie Alfieri and her husband Mike, Rich Blake and his wife Kristen, and Tricia Allard and her husband Kevin; her brother-in-law Paul Calsimitto Jr. and his wife Cynthia; and her sister-in-law Victoria Meho and her husband Sam. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Chloe, Johnny, Brooke, Colton, Lillian, Abigail, Jack, Charlie, Angelina, Paul III, Cali, and Paolo.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Blake, and her mother-in-law, Donna Calsimitto. Her beloved dog, Bailey, who passed away this past July, held a very special place in Jen’s heart.

Jen had a heart big enough to make everyone around her feel loved. She treasured her family and the relationships she shared with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family, including her Aunt and Godmother, Maureen Cooper, and Aunt Liz Shaw, who was more like a sister to her. She also shared a special bond with her Aunt Mary Winsor, affectionately known as “Mams.” Jen and Mams spoke frequently, shared book and movie recommendations, and loved exchanging 25 cents for the latest family gossip.

Jen shared an profound closeness with her mother, Jane. They were not only mother and daughter, but best friends and each other’s greatest supporters. Their relationship was built on deep love, unwavering trust, and an understanding that they would always be there for one another. Jane spent Jen’s life cheering her on with endless love and pride. Throughout Jen’s long medical journey, she remained steadfastly by her side, offering strength, comfort, and support. Jen was deeply grateful for her mother’s constant presence and cherished the special bond they shared.

Jen’s friendships were another important part of her life. Her lifelong best friends, Lisa Harkins and Erin North, shared a bond with her that went far beyond friendship. They were family.

Jen was a passionate oncology nurse at Lahey Clinic, where caring for others was more than a career—it was a calling. She loved her work family on 7 West and TRAC and especially treasured the friendships she made there, including those with Mita and Aimee. The patients and colleagues she cared for were fortunate to experience her compassion, strength, humor, and enormous heart.

Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the entire team on 6 Central at Lahey Clinic for the extraordinary care, compassion, and kindness they showed Jen and her family over the last few years. Your care meant more than words can express.

Outside of nursing, Jen was an avid reader and could often be found lost in a good book. Her true happy place, however, was Totem Pole Campground on Lake Ossipee in Freedom, New Hampshire. There, surrounded by Chris, Matty, and the extended Calsimitto family, Jen was happiest. The summers she spent there and the memories made will forever be treasured by everyone who shared them with her.

Jen leaves behind a lifetime of love in the hearts of so many people. She will be remembered for her fierce love of family, her compassion for others, her loyalty to her friends, her dedication to nursing, her love of reading, and the joy she found in the people and places that mattered most to her.

Though her time with us was far too short, the love Jen gave and the memories she created will remain with her family and friends forever.

She was deeply loved. She will be profoundly missed. And she will never be forgotten.

A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, MA (everyone is kindly asked to meet directly at the church on Thursday morning prior to Mass). Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
