Helen (Binkowski) Janiak 96, a long time resident of Revere, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2017. Helen and her husband Chester(predeceased) raised their two sons, Chester (predeceased) and Martin, in a loving and warm home in Revere. Helen leaves behind son Martin of Middleton and his wife Marie (Luongo) Janiak and their daughter Jessica Janiak of Lynnfield, Rise (Maron) Janiak of Cambridge, wife of son Chester(deceased) and their children, Melissa Janiak and her husband Donald Oliver of Portland Oregon and Elizabeth Janiak and her husband John Beck of Somerville, as well as Andrew Janiak (son of Chester and Joan Saperstan) and his wife Rebecca Stein of Raleigh-Durham N.C. Helen will also be missed by her much loved great-grandchildren, Isaac and Saul Janiak-Stein, Mirabel and Max Oliver, and Chester Beck as well as her many nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law Martin Janiak and his wife Dorothy of Danvers. Helen was born and raised in Chelsea to Frances (Budna) Binkowski and Michael Binkowski. She had five siblings Frank Binkowski(deceased), Charles Binkowski, Anne Binkowski(deceased), Jane Binkowski, and Mary (Binkowski) Haskell. Helen married Chester Janiak in 1943. Helen worked in California in 1943 while her husband Chester was stationed outside San Diego before deployment to the Pacific. She and Chester returned to Revere in 1945 to live and raise their sons Chester and Martin. Helen worked as an assistant buyer for women’s clothing at Jordan Marsh Company in Boston, a job she loved. It cultivated her love of fashion and shopping which she continued to enjoy well into her 90’s. Helen’s dedication and love for her family and for her faith sustained her and were her highest priority. Her love of reading and learning were passed on to her sons and their families. Helen was so proud of the many academic and business accomplishments of her sons and their children. She will be greatly missed. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Friday February 3, 2017 at 9:00am. Funeral mass in St Anthony’s Church at 11:00am. Visitation will be held the morning of the service from 9:00am to 10:30am. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park.
