Alan was a 1957 graduate of Paris High School in South Paris, Maine. He spent many years at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston as a scheduler and coordinator for the nursing staff, where he was admired for his kindness, reliability, and dedication. After retiring, he continued his lifelong commitment to helping others by delivering meals through the Meals on Wheels America program. A man of deep Christian faith, he actively participated in church life and treasured his travels to Israel, the Red Sea, and Lebanon.

A longtime resident of the Boston area, Alan lived in Revere, Beacon Hill, Boston’s South End, Stoughton, and Malden. He was known for his daily ten-mile walks, maintaining an impressive level of fitness and energy well into later life. He will also be fondly remembered for his love of sweets—especially Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and donuts, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, M&M’s, and whoopie pies.
