Filippa "Pina" Colella

Colella, Filippa "Pina" passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 21, 1938, in Sulmona, Italy to the late Loreto Tresca and Mafalda (Antonelli). She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of simmering sauce.

Filippa had an innate talent for creating beautiful things. As a professional pattern maker, she transformed simple materials into extraordinary outfits, ranging from first communion dresses to wedding gowns. Her creations were not just pieces of clothing, but works of art, each stitch imbued with love and meticulous attention to detail. Filippa was also a master in the kitchen. Her sauce, lovingly simmered for hours, was legendary in her neighborhood in Revere, Massachusetts. To quote Virginia Woolf, "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." A meal at Filippa's table was an affirmation of this.

Filippa's love for life extended beyond her home and craft. She had a passion for travel and had journeyed around the world for both work and pleasure. From the sunny beaches of Aruba to Italy, she reveled in the joy of new experiences. Yet, her favorite destination was always the magical kingdom of Disney. Filippa's vibrant spirit and ceaseless generosity will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Beloved wife of 45 years to the late Antonio Colella. Devoted mother to Robert Colella and his wife Cheryl of Andover, and the late Jane Rice and her surviving husband Roger. Adored grandmother of Daniel Rondan and his partner Jenna Melchionno, and Alexandra Colella. Dear sister of Frances Fasoli and her late husband Guido of FL, Ann Marie Congonti and her husband Elio of Carver, and Lucia Tresca of Italy. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. A private service was held by the immediate family.
