Dennis "Fitzy" Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald, Dennis “Fitzy” of Revere on October 14, 2016. Beloved husband of Ellen Fitzgerald (Winston). Devoted father of Jon Fitzgerald and his wife Theresa of FL, Jodi (Fitzgerald) Simpson and husband Matt of Reading, Jake and Spike Fitzgerald of Revere. Dear brother of Rita McGurin and husband Charlie of AZ, Corinne Ware and husband Bob of Tewksbury, and Kevin Fitzgerald. Cherished Papa of Jack and Nicole Fitzgerald, Lydia, Raya, Ciara and Irelyn Simpson. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Dennis ran a successful international air freight business and always said “when my ship comes in I’ll probably be at the airport.” Dennis or “Fitzy” as he was known, was active in and around the Revere community in various clubs and organizations. He was an active member at the VFW Mottola Post of Revere, past member of the Revere Moose lodge, longtime member at the Gannon Golf Club in Lynn, Co-founder of the Row Row Row to Revere, and a former member of the Wharf Marina. “Fitzy” was an avid Boston sports fan, the Red Sox being his favorite. He spent his most enjoyable times on the field playing in the Over 30 Softball League for many years. Dennis enjoyed many golf trips each year with his friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Memorial Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Parish on Friday October 21, 2016 at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visitation will be held at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Thursday October 20th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested for you to buy a round the next time at the bar to honor “Fitzy”.
