Debora Grace Clark

Deborah Grace Clark, known affectionately by family and friends as "Debbie," and beloved by fans as "Storm" on the hit television series American Gladiators, passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on April 14, 1965, in Willimantic, Connecticut, Debbie had a spirit that brought warmth into every corner of her life. Loving, courageous, and compassionate, she left a lasting mark on everyone she met and will be remembered for her radiant smile and her fierce passion for life.

Long before she stepped into the arena, Debbie was a natural athlete. She was an MVP in basketball and soccer and earned All-American honors in track and field, later training with the U.S. Olympic handball team at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado. It was there that she first saw the American Gladiators, and she knew right away that she wanted to be part of it.

In 1991, that determination made her "Storm," one of the fierce and beloved stars of the hit television series American Gladiators. She carried the role with pride, power, and finesse, going head-to-head with contenders in the show's toughest events and quickly becoming a fan favorite. With her trademark humor, she liked to say her favorite pastime was "beating people up" — a nod to her feisty, competitive spirit and her larger-than-life personality.

But beyond the competition, it was Debbie's compassionate heart that shone the brightest. Above all else, she was an amazing mother, a title she treasured more than any accolade she ever won in the ring. Family was everything to Debbie, and she devoted herself fully to the people she loved.

Debbie is lovingly survived by her devoted son, Crayton Sterling Sutherland Clark; her aunt, Brenda Butler, and Brenda's children — Debbie's cousins — Ben Butler Jr., Ben Butler Sr., Aaron, and Karin; and the late Ben Reynolds Sr, and Ben Reynolds Jr., her loving cousin, Nicole Beckett-Lovin, and Nicole's children, James Colin Beckett-Lovin and Annamarie Beckett-Lovin. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and dear friends. She also leaves behind her brother Steven Clark.  She was predeceased by her parents, Edwin Clark Sr. and Beverly Clark, whom she held dear to her heart and her bother Edwin Clark Jr.

Debbie's strength, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed, but the memories she made and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
