Carolyn Caruso

Dec 11, 1957 — Oct 21, 2026

Carolyn Caruso passed away on October 21, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by her three daughters and her longtime love, Jim.

Born on December 11, 1957, in Malden, Massachusetts, Carolyn raised her family in Everett before moving to Saugus and, most recently, Salem. She was witty and sarcastic, with a way of finding laughter in any situation, and she was a natural beauty who always looked picture-perfect, with her flawless makeup and amazing hair.

Above all, her daughters were her life, and being their mom was the role she was proudest of. She hosted many holidays so that her family always had a place at the table, and when her granddaughters came along, she took on another favorite role as Nana to Nina and Cami. She was always sharing their photos, so proud of them, and never happier than when she was visiting with her girls.

For the last 15 years, Carolyn shared her life with Jim Campbell, and the two made countless happy memories together. Wherever she lived, there was always a dog by her side, Honey was one of her most beloved companions.

Outside of her family, Carolyn loved to shop and to decorate. She had a gift for making a house feel like home. She found time each summer to enjoy Cape Cod, one of her favorite places to be, and she treasured her many close friends, always up for dinner out or an afternoon of good company.

Carolyn is survived by her three daughters, Christina DiTrapano and her husband, Michael, of Melrose; Michele Caruso of Saugus; and Melissa Caruso of Saugus; her adored granddaughters, Nina and Cami DiTrapano; and her longtime love, Jim Campbell. Her beloved niece, Katie Summering, and Katie’s family held a very special place in her heart.

She is also survived by many loving relatives and close friends, her dear sister, Nancy Quinlan, and by Paul Caruso, the father of her three daughters. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Marjorie Quinlan, and by her sister, Diane Summering.

Carolyn’s wit, warmth, and loving spirit will be deeply missed, but the joy she brought and the memories she made will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
