Carmella Mele, a beacon of resilience and grace, passed away on March 16, 2026, just shy of her 99th birthday. Born on March 18, 1927, in Boston to the late Oto LoConte and Concetta (Sciarappa). Carmella lived a life that was defined by her fiery spirit, unwavering determination, and a heart full of love and generosity. As a beautician, she didn't just style hair but touched lives, creating a space where people felt seen, heard, and cherished.

Carmella was a woman of her own making. At the tender age of 22, she channelled her passion and opened her own beauty parlor in E. Boston. Her salon wasn't just a place of business; it was an extension of Carmella herself - vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. Unconditional love for her family and close friends. She was a devout catholic who practiced her faith daily.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Mele. An adored mother of Joyce T. Reed and her husband Robert L. Reed Jr. of Bradenton, FL. A cherished grandmother of Stephen J. Malfitano and his fiancé Nicole Boryzcka of NC. Dear sister of the late John LoConte, Joseph LoConte, Matteo LoConte, Angelo LoConte, Liberatore LoConte, Mary Iozzo, Rose Cimmino, Lauretta Falzone, Josephine Aleo. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

Private Services were held for the Immediate family and close friends. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
