Tranfaglia, Carl D. of Lynn passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 78. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY to the late Carl C. Tranfaglia and Alice (Jahn). He is survived by his children Amanda, Edward, and Christina, grandchildren Shea, Lilly, and Emma Grace, and siblings Deborah Bruno and her husband Robert of Georgetown, and Paul Tranfaglia of Melrose. Also survived by his dear friend from the Hunt nursing home Doreen, and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Being raised in the heart of the Bronx, Carl's love for stick ball and the New York Yankees was as steadfast as the city itself. This love was only paralleled by his passion for all sports, be it the adrenaline of playing in an adult softball league in Revere or the excitement of watching college and pro football games. He was graduate of Revere High, class of 1965.
Carl's life was a testament to the power of commitment and dedication. He served our nation with distinction and honor during the Vietnam War. His role in coding intelligence in Saigon demonstrated his commitment to the safety of his fellow servicemen and country. Yet, despite his bravery and dedication, Carl always maintained his gentle spirit. His letters home from the war, always ending with "I'm a lover not a fighter," revealed the heart of a man who, even amidst conflict, held onto his belief in the power of love and compassion. After serving his country he came back to Massachusetts where he worked in the financial district in Boston with stock and bonds.
A private service was held for the immediate family.
In honor of Carl, we invite all who knew and loved him to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page at www.buonfiglio.com. Let us celebrate his life together, cherishing the moments we shared and remembering the man who, through his humble spirit and remarkable life, touched us all.
