Anthony Gizzi

January 20, 1959 — June 27, 2025

Saugus

Anthony Gizzi passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on January 20, 1959, Anthony courageously battled a multitude of health issues without a single complaint. His positive attitude always shone through the most difficult days he faced. Anthony is best known for his infectious laugh and humor, which was felt by all who interacted with him. He is often described as an incredibly giving person who always considered other’s needs over his own.

His childhood years were spent with family trips in the RV, the neighborhood kids, and his regular paper route. He graduated Revere High School in 1978. He went on to continue his education at Bunker Hill Community College, where he took a wide range of classes that aligned to his interests, including culinary arts and computer science. Later on, Anthony worked as a masonry contractor and then at Marriott in-flight services at Logan Airport. After his father, Antonio, passed, he stood steadfast by the side of his mother, Carmela, for the remainder of her life. He cared for her with an immense amount of love and admiration tending to her every need.

Anthony was an avid music lover. He would often attend various concerts from many music genres and collected CDs. Anthony is also best known for his love of food and cooking. He carefully curated the famous “Ma’s Cookbook,” where he recorded all his mother’s famous recipes to be recreated by the generations to follow. Today, “Ma’s Cookbook” sits in the kitchen of every sibling, niece, and nephew of Anthony and will continue to be passed down to preserve the Gizzi family history through cooking.

Anthony was predeceased by his brother Domenic, and sister Maria. He is survived by his two brothers, Marc, and his wife Mina, and Christopher, and his wife Linda, and his sister-in-law, Micky Gizzi, and brother-in-law, Danny Charles. He was a devoted uncle to Domenic, Jihan, Joelle, Danny, Marcus, Bianca, Evana, Lia, Christopher, Christina, Chloe, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St, Revere, MA. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery at 302 Elm St, Everett, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts General Department of Nursing and Patient Care (linked below). Through his various health issues, Anthony always spent a great deal of time at Massachusetts General Hospital and one of the main reasons he was able to remain so positive is due to the tireless efforts of the nursing staff and medical teams.
