Anthony Giachinta

Dec 30, 1931 — Nov 4, 2026

Revere

Anthony Giachinta peacefully entered into rest on November 4, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by family in his home in Revere, MA.

Born to the late Antonio and Carmela Giachinta, Anthony was the beloved husband of Joanne Giachinta and devoted father of Anthony Giachinta and his wife Jane, and Sharon Goodwin and her husband John. Anthony was preceded in death by his son, Robert Giachinta, whose memory remained a cherished part of his family's life. He was the adoring papa of Nicholas Goodwin, Meghan Goodwin, Rachel Pascucci, Robert Giachinta, and Matthew Giachinta and great grandfather to Ashlyn, McKenna, and Sawyer Goodwin, Noelle Pascucci, and Anthony Scheufele. He was the loving youngest brother of Connie DeLuca, Bernice Barbero, Millie Salemi, Tom Giachinta, and Mary Lalicata.

Anthony grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1950. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, attaining the rank of Corporal while stationed in France. In 1956, he married his beloved Joanne, and together they shared 70 years of marriage, raising their family in their Beachmont home, where he lived for the remainder of his life.

Anthony began his career working as a floor layer alongside his father before becoming a draftsman. He later earned his Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1975 and went on to work as a mechanical engineer for Park Brothers and Allen-Bradley. He truly believed that if you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life, advice he repeated frequently to his children and grandchildren.

Over the years, Anthony could often be found tackling projects around his home, skiing in New Hampshire, or preparing a holiday meal for his family. He was someone who could fix just about anything and never left a daily crossword puzzle unfinished. He had a lifelong love of animals, especially the many beloved cats he cared for over the years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Buonfiglio Funeral Home in Revere. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 10, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church, 320 Winthrop Street, Winthrop, MA, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Anthony's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
