Anne Bethune

With profound love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Anne (Merenda) Bethune of Revere, who left us peacefully on July 9th at the remarkable age of 102. She lived a life that beautifully spanned over a century of incredible change and transformation.

Born on April 5, she was the beloved daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Joseph and Sadie (Frizzi) Merenda. Lifelong Revere resident, Anne married Tom, the love of her life and raised a beautiful family together, while creating memories that will last forever.

She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her surviving family. Devoted mother of Darlene Donovan (companion Michael Ryan) of Saugus. Grandmother of Danielle Murray (husband Peter) of Melrose & Ashley Karwowski (fiancée Raymond Domey) of Andover. Fondly remembered by grandchildren, Tommy, Kelly, Kayla, Dene, Eric & Michael. Great grandmother to Kiara, Kameryn, Serena, Nathan & Abigail. Also survived by siblings Vicky Umanita of Bedford & Eleanor McHarg of North Reading.

Predeceased by husband, Thomas Bethune, children Thomas Bethune Jr. & Joann Guliano and siblings Billy Merenda, Marie Trinidade & Frances Ferragamo.

Visiting hours Wednesday, 7/15 9-11am at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St. Revere. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
