Alfred "Big Al" Disalvo

July 25, 1932 — December 11, 2016

DiSalvo, Alfred “Big Al” of Peabody on December 11, 2016. Beloved husband of 59 years to Marilyn DiSalvo. Devoted father of Margie DiSalvo of Peabody, Janice Santarpio and husband Frank of Middleton, and the late Linda DiSalvo. Cherished papa of Savanna, Tia, and Samantha. Dear bother of Nancy Gallante, James, Albert, and Dennis DiSalvo, and the late Nicky DiSalvo. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Al was a Sargent First Class in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. He retired from R Zoppo Corporation after 40 years and was a member of the Sons of Italy in Revere. He loved his wife Marilyn dearly and over the years the two traveled extensively. Al was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed golfing, and had a sweet tooth for jelly donuts. He would keep busy around the house with different projects or hobbies. Al’s grand kids meant the world to him and he never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday December 15, 2016 at 11:00am in St. Adelaide’s Parish in Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visitation will be at the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Wednesday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Alfred’s name to the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Rd, Bedford, MA 01730. Interment Puritan Lawn memorial park.
