Albert "Al" Pierni

Pierni, Albert “Al” a lifelong resident of Revere at the age of 100 on January 6, 2017. Dear son of the late Theodore and Amelia (Santosuosso). Cherished brother of Jean LeDonne and her late husband Arthur, and the late Carl, Rose Parisi, Arthur, Ernest, Theodore, and Caroline Cella. He is also survived by sister in law Mary Pierni and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great niece and nephews. Al served his country in the United States Army during WWII where he was recipient of the Good Conduct medal GO 23 Hq Sp Trp 44, Presidential Unit Citation with Star GO 67 Hq Amer Div 43, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Phillippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star GO 23 Hq USAFFE. Al and his brothers owned and operated the United Super Market in Revere and also the Lynn location after moving there from Revere. He coined himself the “The kid from Revere Street” having a street sign hanging in the house stating just that. Al enjoyed his time in Florida, and for the last 30 years spending half of the year there where he enjoyed walking the beach and meeting new people. He completed a business course at Harvard and found his love for the stock market often giving family members advice on what they should do. Albert spent much of his free time golfing and was a member of the Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead. Al loved his Boston sports teams and would go to a game when the opportunity came. He had a strong faith and enjoyed going to church. Last December Al celebrated his 100th birthday where more than 50 family members came to share their love for him. Al was a very proud Uncle and was pleased of the accomplishments of his family. He will be sorely missed by his family. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Interment Holy Cross cemetery.
