Grace Iacabone

Iacabone, Grace of Chelsea died Nov. 2,2017 while resting peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House due to complications from a stroke. Beloved daughter of the late Ruggiero and Pauline (Vallerelli) Iacabone. Loving sister of the late Lena and Anthony Castranova, Edward and Mary Iacabone, Emily and Anthony Luzzo, and Annette and Anthony Bove. A special thank you to Valerie Ball and her boyfriend Sam Ciaramitaro for the loving care they gave to Grace. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born and raised in the North End of Boston.by Jerry and Pauline Iacabone. She attended local schools and loved singing and was a member of many choirs and Theater Groups. After graduating high school Grace attended both charmed school and got her certificate in business. Grace went to Washington DC during WWII and worked for the Navy which she was particularly proud of. Grace used her education well rapidly rising to the top of her profession to become an executive secretary for C.D.M. Engineering which sent her to work in Egypt for 3 months. She traveled through Europe and South America with her family. Grace was a very disciplined woman who held herself to the highest standards physically and spiritualty trying to lead by example. Among her many talents the family holidays was a show case of her culinary gifts preparing everything from homemade gnocchi to the New York strawberry cheese cake she would serve as one of the desserts .Grace shared a special relationship with her niece Valerie often referring to Valerie as the daughter she never had .While fighting a gallant battle against growing old Grace looked forward to doing errands and appointments, especially every day at dinnertime, when she and Valerie would share and swap stories. Grace will be sadly missed. A graveside service will be held at St Michael’s Cemetery, 500 Canterbury St, Boston, on Monday November 6, 2017 at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Funeral arrangenments under the direction of the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere.
